The Lobster - Yorgos Lanthimos - 2015

The Lobster is an interesting comedy from Greek Filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos. It explores Western expectations on couples, married or otherwise while delivering a dystopian take on reality where those topics are explored with sarcasm and surrealism. My highlight for this year.

Currently my favourite TV Series is the BBC's Sherlock. Plot and characters are great.

Interestellar Christopher Nolan - 2014

"Interestellar" is a great science-fiction movie, with great images from outer space, space travel and exotic planets with interesting plot developments and some mixed messages about our future, love and mankind. Very intersting movie, as usually from director Christopher Nolan.


"Interestellar" es una gran obra de ciencia-ficción, con geniales imágenes del espacio, naves y planetas, un guión con sorpresas y mensajes mezclados sobre nuestro futuro, el amor y la humanidad. Una película muy interesante, como siempre, del director Christopher Nolan.

The Rope - Alfred Hitchcock 1948

I love this movie. Everything happens in a room and the characters (and the acting) are great. 

Me encanta esta película. Toda la acción ocurre en el comedor y los personajes (y los actores) son geniales.

My favourite movie of all times. Akira Kurosawa was also an illustrator, and he will work some of his plots based on his illustrations and character design, laying out the humanity of the characters turning them in unforgettable. 

Mi película favorita de todos los tiempos. Akira Kurosawa también era un ilustrador, trabajaba algunos de sus guiones en base a ilustraciones y el diseño de personajes, creando una humanidad a los personajes y un realismo que los hacen difíciles de olvidar.

The Dark Knight Rises Poster for Dendy Cinemas Newtown

Yesterday I went to see The Dark Knight Rises at Dendy's Newtown, Sydney. I won a competition and they were exhibiting the winner posters including mine. It's a great feeling to go to a Cinema that has your poster hanging! 

Inception characters

Those are some sketches that I did while watching again the "Inception" movie. I have seen the movie before, so I just started to doodle the characters on my sketchbook. I don't like to pause it and draw, but draw the characters while watching the movie helped to create a 3D idea on my mind of how they look like.

Estos son algunos bocetos de los personajes de "Inception". Lo dibuje mientras veia la pelicula en DVD. En lugar de pausar la imagen para "copiarla" lo que hice fue crear "retratos" de los personajes a medida que la pelicula avanzaba en mi cuaderno. 

"The Vampires" at Cockatoo Island

Jazz music in a very windy day... my paintings were flying over the sketchbook... "The Vampires" are a jazz band very interesting. We enjoyed the day and the music.

Segunda semana del festival de Jazz en Cockatoo Island. A pesar del viento (lamentablemente mis pinturas se han estropeado más allá de la posible recuperación, asi que el lunes tendré que comprarme otro set portátil) he podido realizar un sketch de "The Vampires" un cuarteto de Jazz australiano. Jazz at Cockatoo Island

We enjoyed good jazz  music and a nice picnic in this tiny little island. The weather (and so the light) was great.

Este sketch lo hice ayer en Cockatoo Island, una pequena isla que hay en la Bahia de Sydney. Fuimos con un punado de amigos a un recital de Jazz al aire libre. Los Scrapes son un grupo muy interesante que toco alli. Despues de otra semana de lluvias se agradece un buen fin de semana.
