Pancakes at home

This morning we had breakfast at home: pancakes with cream and berries covered with maple syrup (yummy). It really was a stunning view (and delicious) so I did a little sketch about it. I love home made pancakes :)

Esta mañana desayuno casero: tortitas (pancakes) con nata y frutas del bosque cuvierto con sirope de Maple. Era un desayuno muy bonito (y delicioso) asi que he decidido hacerle un dibujo. Me encantan las tortitas caseras!

Santi on the phone. He moves a lot, but it´s ok, the picture looks distorded and fun. There you go! 

Santi al telefono. Me da tiempo de dibujarle. Se mueve demasiado, lo que es bueno, porque el dibujo pierde parecido con la realidad y puedo colgar la imagen en Internet (despues de pedirle permiso). 

vie lite - issue #4 - Lotus Blues

This week comes out the Issue #4 of the Entertainment Magazine "vie lite" including my story "Lotus Blues". The Blue Lotus is one of my favourite Tintin albums and I wanted to do a small homage to it, without being too redundant. If you are in Sydney please, look for your issue and let me know your opinion!   

Esta semana se publica el numero 4 (Abril) de la revista de entretenimiento "vie lite" en Australia. Incluye el comic adjunto "Lotus Blues", claro homenaje al Lotus Azul de Herge (Las Aventuras de Tintin). Si estas en Sydney consigue un ejemplar y dime que te parece! (El mio llega por correo en unos dias).

I finally received today my copies of the Magazine. I'm always excited when I'm published and that's my first time to publish a comic in Australia.  I already was published in Spain past year, and next month I will be published in two more Magazines in Sydney. 

Finalmente he recibido mis copias de la revista. Siempre me pongo muy contento cuando me publican y este es mi primer comic publicado en Australia. Me publicaron el año pasado en España y el próximo mes publicaré en dos revistas más en Sydney. 

vie lite - issue #3 - publishing my comics in Australia

I started a collaboration with the Sydney based Entertainment Magazine "Vie Lite". I have two full pages in the March Issue and I will be also in the next issue. Is a bilingual magazine, with articles both in Traditional Chinese and English. This is the first time that I publish in Australia, so I'm very happy.

My comics on that publication will relate small "slice of life" stories occurred  during my trips to Asia (China, Hong Kong, Taipei, Malasya, Tailand, Borneo, etc...) , or related to Asian peoples and cultures.  

He iniciado una colaboracion mensual con la revista de entretenimiento australiana "vie lite", publicacion bilingue en chino tradicional e ingles para el publico general y especialmente para la poblacion asiatica. En el numero de Marzo he publicado dos paginas del comic que acompaña esta entrada. Es la primera vez que publico en Australia.  El mes que viene participare tambien en la revista.

Mis comics en esta publicacion son pequeñas historias cotidianas sobre mis viajes a Asia (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malasia, Borneo, Tailandia, etc...) o relativos a Asia sus gentes y sus culturas. 

North Sydney Oval - Starlight Cinema - "The King's Speech"

Yesterday we went to the North Sydney Oval "Starlight" Cinema to watch "The King's Speech". The movie was really good and was fun to go to the movies outdoorsy. One of the leading characters is Australian playing an Australian so the audience was pretty happy for that. 

Ayer fuimos al cine al aire libre en el Estadio de Cricket de North Sydney para ver "El Discurso del Rey" (o como sea se llame en español la pelicula). Me gusto mucho y tambien fue una experiencia divertida. Uno de los personajes principales de la pelicula es un australiano interpretado por un actor australiano, con lo que la audiencia ya estaba contenta desde el principio.  

Sketch - Sydney Olympic Pool and Luna Park

I was sitting in the Café near the Sydney Olympic Pool. It has great views from the Harbour and also the face and entrance of Luna Park. Sarah did her swim, and I just enjoyed my Latte. 

Estaba sentado en el Café de la Piscina Olímpica de Sydney. Tiene una vista genial de la Bahía y también de la entrada de Luna Park (un pequeño parque de atracciones) que tenemos al lado de nuestro apartamento. 

Coke Zero

Well, yes, Coke Zero. My guilty pleasure. A new Sketch to welcome a new month. There is something about aluminum cans, there is something about caffeine too :)

Si, ya se, Coca Cola Zero. Un pequeno placer poco saludable pero tambien un apunte al natural para empezar el mes. Hay algo en el aluminio.... en la enesima dosis de cafeina :) ains!

Sketching around Tasmania (20 watercolors)

As any smart reader of this blog has already figure it out, I'm sketching a lot out there! The realistic drawing of whatever is on my sight has become one of my best friends and pleasures on life... and together with a really nice holiday in an amazing land as is Tasmania, the creative explosion was somehow expected. 

Como cualquier lector avispado de este blog se habrá ya dado cuenta, estoy dibujando un montón! Dibujo realista de cualquier cosa que esta a mi vista se ha convertido en uno de mis mejores amigos, un placer. Si juntamos eso con unas fenomenales vacaciones en Tasmania, la explosión creativa se veia venir.

Estaba dibujando al natural en los acatantilados de Lanceston, Tasmania cuando un tipo me comentó si conocia la pagina "urbansketcherds.org". Le conteste que soy miembro, con lo que empezó a alucinar creyendo que además yo era uno de los corresponsales... momento surrealista del día... 

30th International Sketchcrawl - Manly, Sydney

30th International Sketchcrawl - Manly, Sydney. It was held yesterday, 22nd January 2011  worldwide. I meet the group at 10.30 on the Manly (Sydney) Wharf. Was a lovely day and we did enjoy a lot sketching in group and talking. 

La 30 edicion de la Sketchcrawl Internacional se celebró ayer el 22 de Enero de 2011. En Sydney nos reunimos en los muelles de Manly. Un perfecto dia de verano para dibujar en grupo.

IF - New Year Resolutions

For this week Illustration Friday challenge: "Resolutions". One of my 2011 own resolutions is to do more and better illustrations. Also collaborate with more magazines, zines and newspapers... improve my painting skills, develop new techniques, use new materials... and above all... enjoy... enjoy a lot. 

Para Ilustration Friday de esta semana con el tema "Propósitos". Para el 2011 me he propuesto dibujar más y mejores ilustraciones. También colaborar con más revistas, fanzines y periódicos... también mejorar en la pintura, desarroyar nuevas técnicas, usar nuevos materiales  y sobre todo: disfrutarlo, disfrutarlo mucho :) 

NYE - 31.12.2010

My first post of 2011 is the last image that I created in 2010, a sketch of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from Lavender Bay, twelve hours before the NYE. So let's start it from here :D 

Mi primer post de 2011 es la última imagen que cree en 2010, un apunte del Harbour Bridge desde uno de los parques de la Bahia de Sydney, doce horas antes de Nochebuena y los fuegos artificales (se puede ver como hay gente ya acampada para no perderse detalle). Ala, empezamos :D
